SEATTLE— Intiman Theatre Artistic Director Kate Whoriskey and Managing Director Brian Colburn announce the lineup of plays for Intiman’s 2011 Season. Additional information, including dates and casting, will be announced soon.

ALL MY SONS
Written by Arthur Miller and Directed by Valerie Curtis-Newton
Intiman will open its season with Arthur Miller’s Tony Award-winning drama about an ordinary family pushed into extraordinary circumstances in the aftermath of World War II. Directed by Valerie Curtis-Newton, Artistic Director of The Hansberry Project at ACT, All My Sons is the first production of a Miller play in Intiman’s history.
THE CALL
Written by Tanya Barfield and Directed by Andrew Russell
The Call, Tanya Barfield’s moving and often uproariously funny world premiere about international adoption, probes the complexities of marriage, friendship, loyalty and betrayal. Intiman Associate Producer Andrew Russell (The Thin Place) directs this world premiere, which asks, what would it really mean to be responsible for a child from another culture?
THE PLAYBOY OF THE WESTERN WORLD
Written by J. M. Synge and Directed by Kate Whoriskey
A man with a mysterious past enters a small town bar and seduces the spirited barmaid, and the entire town, with his storytelling. J.M. Synge’s Irish masterpiece The Playboy of the Western World—an “extravagant comedy,” in the words of its author, with a darkly modern undercurrent—is rich with language, imagination and spirit. Kate Whoriskey directs and Daniel Breaker (A Doctor in Spite of Himself at Intiman and a Tony nominee for Passing Strange) stars.
THE PIANO TEACHER

When a retired piano teacher—seemingly gentle, warm and generous—is visited by two former students, the hidden secrets of the past send shock waves through Julia Cho’s drama, which was produced to great acclaim Off-Broadway. Cho received the 2010 Susan Smith Blackburn Prize for The Language Archive.
THE LEGEND OF SLEEPY HOLLOW
By Washington Irving / New Adaptation by Chloe Moss / Directed by Anne Kauffman
Intiman will end its season with a new version of Washington Irving’s classic for multigenerational audiences written by Chloe Moss, winner of the 2009 Susan Smith Blackburn Prize for her play This Wide Night. Capping off a season filled with metaphorical mysteries, this great American ghost story will provide chills and thrills.
