Neighborhood showcases its multi-faceted creativity with variety of Arts Crush events
SEATTLE – October 5, 2010 – Greenwood-Phinney made international headlines last year with Cooper, its neighborhood cat-turned-photographer, but that’s just the beginning of the creativity abounding here. With murals and galleries, a dance studio, a writing center and its own professional theatre, Greenwood-Phinney is one of Seattle’s hottest arts neighborhoods. This month it showcases all the artistry with a series of events for Arts Crush, the month-longregional arts festival.
Visual art enthusiasts won’t want to miss the special events scheduled for Friday, October 8, which coincides with the monthly Art Up Greenwood-Phinney Art Walk. Families with children will enjoy a number of events throughout the month, including a free session of the popular Drama with Your Mama class (October 19) from Taproot Theatre’s Acting Studio and a free performance of the entertaining bullying-prevention play Treasure Ally (October 23). Then on October 24, get your groove on with 13 free dance classes from The American Dance Institute and Art on the Ridge.
