Seattle Rep casting announced, single tickets on sale Aug. 24 Seattle talent front and center

Seattle, WA: One of new Seattle Repertory Theatre Artistic Director Jerry Manning's first orders of business: "putting 'Seattle' back in Seattle Rep."

The theatre announced today casting for the upcoming 2010-2011 season. Of the 23 roles cast so far, 21 have been filled by Seattle performers, ranging from up-and-comers like Troy Fischnaller and Alexandra Tavares to long-time staples like Charles Leggett, Seán G. Griffin, Todd Jefferson Moore and Suzanne Bouchard. Additionally, five of the eight directors are local, as are many of the designers.

"Seattle has been my artistic home for the last ten years," Manning said. "I know well the talent that we have here, and it's exciting to work on the plays in this coming season—smash Broadway and Off-Broadway hits, wonderful contemporary classics—with our own home team."

The season kicks off
